![]() Unless it’s political advertising, then you can pretty much make any claim you like. And one of the overriding rules about claims (at least in the US) is that it is illegal to knowingly make false claims. If it is written on your bottle, in magazine ads, on TV, radio, or even a paid sponsorship on social media, they are all claims. Everything from the description of what the product is, the amount in the bottle, the ingredients that are written about and any performance statements made are claims. What are claims?Ĭlaims are any statement you make about your product. I hope it will illustrate why it isn’t surprising that when a separate company investigated the Purito sunscreen claims themselves, they got different results. So in this post we’ll look at what are claims, how are they substantiated and what do they mean. I also never got a chance to use their previous centella sunscreen prior to the scandal, so not sure if it's similar or how they compare. The recent “scandals” related to sunscreen testing of brands like Purito, Krave and other sunscreen brands, made me think about cosmetic claims in general and how consumers (and chemists) should think about them. Only con imo is that it's not waterproof! I think the formulation and texture is just so simple and plain that it's something I want to reach for every day because I know it won't cause any issues for my skin. ![]() ![]() I'm not sure what it is but this literally has been my daily go to sunscreen, even though I was meh about it in the beginning. It also doesn't irritate me or cause breakouts, and combined with a gel cream moisturizer for summer it keeps me moisturized all day since it's a little on the heavier side. It is a little greasy but my skin is naturally really dull and this adds some shine. So as I've been using it the last week especially, I've enjoyed it more than ever. However, I am also adjusting to a retinoid similar to tretinoin called tazarotene and I'm pretty sure the "pilling" was just my dead skin from all of the flaking I was experiencing lol. But it never dried me out which is something most sunscreens do! As the day went on it also pilled a little and was just not ideal. I just wanted to write a quick review about this because it's growing on me!Īt first, I wasn't a fan because it is on the thicker side (but not thick thick) and it made my skin look and feel greasy.
